Mini First Draft Recording – Excerpt

Deej: So yeah, I thought that we would just go through them. One, bam, bam, bam, one, two, three. If anything like really bothers you in the middle of reading, stop and let me know. Otherwise, we can like have a little chat about each one afterwards or whatever to sort of get general thoughts on how you feel about the story and how things are happening and so on. I just want to get, well, I mean, I wanted to hear it out loud too, because that always makes a big difference. But I wanted to get an idea of how you guys feel the story is going before I jump into revisions. Cool, cool. Does everybody have episode one open? No, it’s not.

Tina: Classic. Sorry. That’s all I just said. Okay, so it’s been a lot. Been there. Have a later or do I need to just pull up?

Deej: The links are in the sound. Sound, right, right, right, yes, yes. Sound channel, whatever it’s called. Yeah, I’ll pick all three of them.

Tina: Okay, cool. As soon as it loads, it will be good.

Robin: And Tina, I said classic, but if it helps for like the first five minutes of this year, I didn’t realize I couldn’t hear anything. I had to change my outfit. So I was like sitting here like, wow, okay.

Tina: Yeah, that’s all I was saying. Yeah, that’s always fun. I love that. It’s like when you’re muted and you don’t realize you’re muted. Yeah, it’s a good time. Okay. All right.

Deej: So unless it gets like way too confusing, which it won’t in this episode, there’s only one I will read all of the other voices so that you guys can focus on your characters. But yeah, and this one there’s only Shelley. So yeah, we are literally maybe a day or two after the end of the season at this point. Because there was the final Carol monologue where like you were back in our world, like Yvonne was packing and everything and you were coming back.

So this is after you have come back and you are with Hodag and getting ready to enjoy the whole adventure. All right. Cool. Let’s just jump into it and see how it goes.

Tina: Okay. Now where did I put that? I know I packed the damn thing. What are you looking for? Peppermint oil. I’m a little nauseous. Not a great backseat rider. Sorry. I’m sorry. It’s okay. Just.

Cass: I’ve got to keep an eye on this little guy until we get to the woods. He’s not feeling great either. Poor fella. What’s his name? Nathaniel. Nobody calls himself but I’m guessing you don’t speak squawk. It’s okay buddy. We’re almost there.

Tina: Careful with the potholes please. I’m sorry. I should have brought some Dramamine. You wouldn’t know. How could transit hits different? Here we go. Just this. Okay. That helps. I can look out the window again. Oh. Hey. Cows. Not so much.

Cass: I don’t usually see mantobungal this far down. I’ll put that in my next report. They do not play well with others.

Tina: So basically cows. Did I miss the part where you told us where we’re headed? I mean I know the moon but right now?

Cass: This is right on the way. I just need to… It’s stuck right up on me. Anyway, I just… Oh, heads up. Ow.

Tina: I’m going to let you drive. Do you know where we’re going?

Robin: I don’t know where we are now. This is all new to me.

Tina: Okay. I’ve only gotten a three-day weekend. The books, the books they’re calling. Maybe? I didn’t click it yet but it’s the one. Yeah. Okay. Yes. Okay. It’ll be okay. Here. I’ve got your jellies. I told you. Don’t give these back to me.

Robin: You already found out how many you can fit in your mouth at once. Well, it could happen.

Tina: I had to say something, didn’t you?

Cass: I think this is the spot. It’ll only take a minute.
